Next Stage of IRIS Scheme Planned for Maughold
Plans for the implementation of the IRIS scheme in Maughold are currently being finalised. The Commissioners recently met representatives of the Drainage Division of DOT at which the proposals were outlined. Mr Quirk MHK, Member responsible for Drainage, Mr Winstanley, Director of Drainage, and Mr Sweeney from the consulting engineers Aecom, advised the Commissioners that the finalised proposals would be presented to the public of Maughold in February/March of 2010.
It is intended that new installations will be put in at Port Lewaigue, Maughold Village, Booilushag/Port Mooar, Glen Mona and Corony. These are designed to be unobtrusive, being largely below ground.
The Commissioners have details of the general proposals which they strongly encourage the public to view. Please contact the clerk on 819690 or via
