An Update on the The Port Lewaigue Bird Ringing Project at Gob ny Rona

The variety of bird life are being recorded as part of a study by the Manx Ringing Group and it presents a fascinating picture of the diverse coastal environment of the north Maughold coastline. Mr Gray will be continuing the study through 2011. Pictured is a Sparrowhawk which was recorded in 2010.
U92 Maughold Mountain Path Refurbishment.
Following sustained pressure on a succession of Ministers over the last few years the U92 path that runs behind the Glen Mona Hotel is currently being repaired. Extensive damage has been done to both the path and adjacent moorland over the last four or five years by motorcycles. The path will be closed to motorised vehicles for the next twelve months as it is re-marked and re-instated. Please advise the Commissioners immediately if any motorbikes are seen on the path or moorland during this time.
Fly Tipping at Ballure Reservoir Car Park
Following the tipping of a large chest freezer on the Gooseneck Road last month, the Commissioners are saddened to report that a quantity of builders rubble has been tipped at the Ballure Reservoir Car Park. The rubble, largely in heavy duty black bags. The Commissioners have arranged for its removal. Please forward any information to the Commissioners on 422148 or via maughold@manx.net.
