Ballure Cliff Stabilsation Works Begin 25th June 2012

Ballure Cliff |
The first stage of works to construct a rock armour footing at cliffs along the Ballure coastline begin on the 25th of June. The cliff recession is causing part of a path on Ballure Walk to collapse, and, if unchecked will threaten MEA power-lines and the MER in years to come. The materials and machinery necessary to complete the work will access the site via the slipway at Ramsey Harbour and along Ramsey Beach.
The rock armour will be positioned at the base of the cliff. This first stage will last for approximately six weeks. The second stage will take place in October 2012 and involve works on the cliff face itself. The Commissioners are in close communication with the project directors for the duration of the works. Further details can be obtained from the clerk on 422148.
