Meeting of Northern Authorities - 5th December 2012
The Commissioners will be attending a meeting of the northern authorities in Jurby next week. The intention of the meeting is to discuss ways of working more closely together. Maughold Commissioners currently work co-operatively with Laxey and Lonan through the Garff Initiative, and also have arrangements to share services with other authorities such as Douglas Corporation where beneficial to the ratepayer. The Commissioners look forward positively to discussing the possibility of further sharing of services with its northern neighbours.

supplemented on Thursdays and Fridays by two off peak services to/from Ramsey
(extract from IOM Today).
The matter is on the agenda of the Commissioners' Meeting.

Damage to gates on the U92 Maughold Mountain Track
The Commissioners are disappointed to report what appears to be an incident of criminal damage to a gate and its posts on the track leading from the Glen Mona Hotel up onto the track over the moorland above Maughold. The chain and lock on the gate have been removed, the gate thrown aside, and the gate post demolished. It is also disappointing to report that motorcyclists are continuing to flout the 'Road Closed' notices on the track on frequent occasions. Reports of these incidents including some registration numbers have been passed on to the police for investigation. The Department of Infrastructure have also been alerted. The Commissioners ask that any motorcyclists accessing the track whilst it is under closure orders be reported to Ramsey Police on 812234. Reports of these incidents have been passed on to the police for investigation. The Department of Infrastructure have also been alerted.
