Maughold Planning Application details.
Please note, although we now post Maughold Planning Applications on this page, we also post local application notices on our noticeboard at Glen Mona Bus Stop. Weekly Island lists are available at gov.im. Applicants must also post the yellow notices in view from a designated highway beside the application site for a set period.
As it happens, there are none listed in Maughold this week, and it appears that publication in the newspapers may begin again soon if Mr Thomas proceeds as he has stated today.
Rate held at 96p in the Pound.
The Commissioners base line rate will not increase for Year End 2016, remaining at 96p in the £.
However, the charges placed on the Commissioners for waste disposal at the EfW plant are set to rise by 25%. The Commissioners have limited the effect of this rise on the separate refuse rate charge to 16%. As a consequence the refuse charge per property will rise by around £16.00 to £111.09.
This means that most ratepayers will have a rise of around £16 for the coming year's rates. The Commissioners have not been advised how much the MUA will raise water rates for the coming year. In recent years the latter rise has been the most dramatic increase on charges made to ratepayers: unfortunately this rise is beyond the control of your Commissioners.
The transfer of hedge-cutting, street cleaning and gulley cleaning services from government may go ahead in April 2015. If this is the case, Minister Gawne has committed to freezing the rise in charges for waste disposal: it is anticipated that this saving would approximately cover the cost of these new services and should not impact the rate set for Year End 2016. The Commissioners welcome your views in these matters and encourage you to direct comments to maughold@manx.net, via Twitter, Facebook, or by calling 422148. Your views are very welcome.
