Maughold Commissioners Office Closed Week Commencing 2nd November 2015
The Commissioners Office will be closed next week (from 2nd November) and will reopen at 9.00 am on Monday 9th November. If your query is urgent and needs attention during next week please call 861241.

A2 Coast Road Closed over Bulgham Section 11.11.15.
Please note that a road closure order has been issued for Wednesday the 11th of November 2015 which will entail the closure of the Laxey to Bulgham section of the A2 Coast Road between 1.00 and 4.00 pm.. The Ballaragh Road will be open as an alternative route. The closure is to allow further investigation of an accident that resulted in a fatality.

Consultation Period on Single Garff Authority coming to an end...
Your views on the amalgamation of Laxey, Lonan and Maughold are currently sought. The Commissioners wish to remind residents that the consultation on the proposed change ends on Friday 23rd October 2015. Single Garff Authority? Meeting Next Wednesday 7.00 pm Laxey School
Not to be missed!
We need to hear your vision for Garff, should the three authorities consolidate and operate fully together. A single Garff Authority would be one of the largest local authorities on the Island and would occupy the largest geographical area. Working together, Laxey, Lonan and Maughold have already proven to be able to provide refuse collection, hedge cutting, gulley cleaning and street cleaning amongst a myriad of other services. They also pride themselves on the agility and speed of their responses to residents queries and needs.
The proposed single Garff Authority will continue to operate the modern economically efficient model of minimal directly employed staff working with a range of tendered and professional contractors. This is a different model to the other 'large' authorities on the Island.
