Maughold Taking Part in Big Tidy Up on 9th October
Volunteers from Maughold will be taking part in the 'Big Tidy Up' weekend which is being led by Douglas Corporation on the 9th of October. It is anticipated that a litterpick will take place along the course of the A2, and that several beaches will be cleaned. The Commissioners are open to other suggestions from volunteers regarding areas that can be improved on the 9th of October.

Mr Gawne to Visit U92 in September
Mr Gawne, Minister at the Department of Infrastructure has taken up the Commissioners invitation to come to Maughold to walk the U92 'Maughold Mountain Road' pathway to assess its condition. He is set to visit during September. Representatives from the Commissioners will accompany Mr Gawne on the visit. the Commissioners will be pressing for a more effective approach from government to the maintenance of this upland path.

Commissioners to Meet with Water & Sewerage Authority
The Commissioners will be meeting Mr Winstanley, Director of Drainage, as well as senior engineers involved with preparing the proposals for the next stage of the IRIS project, in early October. New treatment and pumping facilities are to be installed in several locations. These being Maughold Village, Port Mooar, Port Lewaigue, Corony and Glen Mona. The Commissioners have viewed the initial proposals and look forward to hearing how these have been developed. The views of those local residents who have seen the initial proposals have already been forwarded to the Authority. The Commissioners will be pressing for a public meeting in the Autumn. Maughold Civic Service - All welcome!
This years Civic Service takes place at Kirk Maughold on Sunday 26th of September 2010. All residents are warmly welcomed to attend the Service and to join the Commissioners for refreshments in St Maughold's Church Room afterwards. The Service begins at 3.00 pm.

Dukes Stages Rally 2010 in Maughold 11.09.10
The Dukes Stages Rally will be coming through Maughold on Saturday the 11th September. The Rally will run in the afternoon from around 2.00 pm. One stage will be the D32 Rhenab Road from Ballasloe through Rhenab/the Lhaggan up the D29 Glen Mona Loop Road. A second stage will run at about the same time along the D28 Rhowin Road from Hibernia junction up to the Gooseneck. Click here to access full details or call the Commissioners on 422148.
