Government confirms full transfer of tipping charges onto the domestic rate
The charges for refuse disposal at the Energy from Waste plant are being drastically increased over the next six years to effectively transfer the full charge onto rates by 2018. The cost of disposal at the plant for the current year is £35.00 per tonne this will rise to £57.35 per tonne for Year end 2014 - a rise of 65%. From 2014 onwards the rate will increase by £21.00 per year until 2018. This will have consequences on the level of property charge and general rate set for Year End 14. More details to follow.
