Garff Commissioners Meeting with Minister Gawne to discuss further Service Delivery Changes
The Commissioners of Maughold, Laxey and Lonan will be meeting with Minister Gawne and senior representatives of the DoI this coming Monday the 18th May. The meeting will allow preliminary discussion of the delivery of other services beyond those already agreed (hedge-cutting, gulley-pot cleaning and street cleaning), either through transfer of responsibility to local authorities or through a shared approach with the Department.
A further meeting of the Garff Committee will meet a few days later on Wednesday with representatives from Douglas Corporation who will be contracted in to undertake the hedge-cutting, gulley pot servicing, and street cleaning in Garff,
The DoI will retain full responsibility for these matters on the main A2 Coast Road as it passes through our Sheading. ¶ 08:56
