Glen Mona Traffic Calming
As part of its focus on calming traffic on the A2 through the Glen Mona area, the Department of Infrastructure has advised the Commissioners that it is to undertake alterations at Cardle. Following requests to the Commissioners from residents in that area the DoI have agreed to re-install rumble strips as vehicles approach the 30 mph zone. This option was considered for the southern entrance to Glen Mona but was rejected due to the potential effect of noise on residents living close by. The Department will also be undertaking a survey of vehicle speed at Cardle in order to assess the effect of the rumble strips on driver behaviour. The Commissioners will continue to use the 'Smiley Face' SIDS signs at both entrances to the Glen Mona area. The Commissioners remind residents to report any instances of dangerous driving witnessed in the Parish to the police.
