Michael Pfeiffer Memorial Bench Installed by Dhoon resident
A bench has been installed in the Dhoon Arboretum as a memorial to Michael Pfeiffer of the Gruseleck. Michael passed away last year and the bench has been provided by a resident of Dhoon.
The Gruseleck have become synonymous with the Dhoon Corner where they have set up camp during the festival since 1981.
The bench is sited just beyond the entrance to the Arboretum and faces down towards the Gruseleck camp. Why not have a wander up and a sit during this year's TT and remember Michael, a very likeable, warmly respected friend of the TT and the Isle of Man.
A German TT visitor who became well-known for camping at a spot in the north of the Island has died.
Michael Pfeifer headed up a group of German fans who've visited the festival every year since 1981.
They’re well-known among visitors and locals for their campsite on
the corner of the Ballaragh Road in Laxey, known as Gruseleck.
58 year old Mr Pfeifer, from Duisburg, was killed in a motorcycle accident involving a truck last Thursday.
A statement on his website says he loved the Isle of Man and the
motorbike fans he met – and asks friends to remember him as the
“wonderful person he was.”
